Look, I know it’s a cliché, and some days can be challenging, but the truth is, every day we get under the sun is a gift. We take so much for granted. The fact that we have water to drink, food to eat, air to breathe; that is all a huge gift. Because we are not entitled to any of it. It is not guaranteed. And yet our planet continues to nourish us and sustain us.
She continues to make sure we have what we need not just to survive, but to thrive. The more we can start to feel into how lucky we are, the better we will feel overall. Because we are lucky!
Listen, I know how easy it is to fall into the trap of comparing your life to others. I know how seductive it can be to look around and wish you had more money or were further along in your career. But I bet most of you have extreme abundance in your lives already. If you were just to take stock of what you already have you would be dumbfounded by your riches. One of my mentors says:
Where awareness goes, energy flows.
So, that means what you are aware of is what you are growing. If you are aware of all of your gifts, your gifts will grow. If you are aware of all of your lacks and snubs and shortcomings, those will grow.
Yes, the week ahead will have its challenges, and perhaps your heart feels a little contractive. But pay attention to the gifts you already have and your heart will expand, probably even before lunch if you let it.
Sit down and write a list of five things you are TRULY grateful for.
Here’s mine: my husband, my dog, the desert, my relationship with spirit, my creativity.
Feel free to share yours!
