There's no escaping the physical, mental, and emotional trajectories set in motion in January of 2017, two years ago, when the world embarked upon a new nine-year cycle.
If we think 2019 (the year of the creative child within the newly formed family, the artist and the lawyer) will be easier and different than 2018, we must think again! Chaotic thoughts and actions are consequences of the undisciplined mind; hanging out on the "sidelines" never was an option that had any merit.
Stepping out of the illusion of sidelines, we see that there are no sidelines upon which to cling! We must be prepared to avoid—or meet head on—the dysfunctional souls who continue to act out their negative script with horrific results in mind.
This is the year to stand by our Faith—as the believer or atheist that we are. 2019 holds new beginnings; it also holds the promise of endings to worn-out expressions of attitude and behaviors.
Even the character of Ebenezer Scrooge, conceived by Charles Dickens in "A Christmas Carol," evolved to a plateau of serenity and goodwill for all. Though terrified, he faced his demons and acknowledged his poor use of free will throughout his entire life. Shedding his domineering belief system, he awakened in his old age—during his miraculous transformation—to a new world through his new choice of perception.
Like old clothes that no longer fit (evoking bad memories), we must face up to relationships that no longer bring us joy and happiness. Perhaps they need to be left behind! Do we really enjoy their depressing and depleting effects on our lives? Consider what that says about us!
Holding to desired outcomes—which we imagine in daily meditation and prayer—that are spoken with conviction will serve us throughout 2019 as we create our world to our desires, as Ebenezer Scrooge did, miraculously transforming ourselves in the process.
We must take courage in the realization that fear is misdirected energy and remember that darkness always gives way to the ever-dawning light.
