There's No Such Thing As Competition

By Brandon Alter:

I mean, sure, in sports and awards shows people get ranked: bad, fine, good, better, and best. But that’s all just an illusion. It’s a creation that flies in the face of nature.

Why we are so addicted to hierarchy is beyond me.

What I do know is that nothing in the natural world competes. A flower is not better than a tree. A rainy day can be as beautiful as a sunny day; it’s all about how you look at things.

When we compete with others, we are shrinking ourselves. When we compare ourselves to others, we are destroying ourselves. In this life, you have one job, to be YOU as completely as possible, to shine your authenticity like a sun!

Spoiler alert: looking to other people cannot help you with that. Only looking within can. So as you start your week off strong, remember that you only have to walk your own road. And what other people are achieving or not has NOTHING to do with you!
