Open Letter to the U.S. Supreme Court

By Anonymous:

Dear Justices Alito, Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, Thomas, and Coney Barrett:

As a surgeon, tax payer, mother, and American-born woman with fundamental self-evident inalienable rights and professional duty to uphold ethical principles, I fully reject your erroneous legal judgment against Roe v. Wade.

Your decision so profoundly violates ethical principles that I am compelled to explain how your misguided reasoning in unacceptable, harmful, and the most reprehensible trespass.

The experience of sex during a woman's lifetime can range from the most sacred space of grace to the most violent and vile transgression: all the continuum of human experience which the woman reconciles with her Creator in a deeply personal, private, and sacred space. No other person, state, or religion has any place in that space between God and a woman—there is nothing more fundamentally existential. Your ruling and any attempt to take away, regulate, or judge that space is an existential trespass.

Many women will suffer and die, yet regardless of the information provided to you by medical experts you knowingly proceeded with your legal opinion anyway. Your flawed legal reasoning violates principles of nonmaleficence: does not your profession ascribe any ethics? Your legal opinion compromises physician duty to uphold pillars of ethical medical practice that have been recognized since the time of Hippocrates—an egregious and dangerous violation.

Your lack of judgment (or reckless, intentional negligence) renders you unworthy of the privilege to serve Americans in such a serious position as Supreme Court Justice. Laws are needed for safety. Your privilege should be revoked. I have no confidence in you.
