This tartar sauce is super easy and quick to make. It's delicious with any type of fish, but it makes a perfect dipping sauce for Fish & Chips.
I've made this recipe with all types of mayo—you can use regular Hellman's, but my particular favorite is avacado oil mayo.
Homemade Tartar Sauce
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 small dill pickle or any spicy pickle (I like McClure's ), chopped fine
1 tablespoon or more of fresh lemon juice (to taste)
1 tablespoon capers, chopped fine
1 tablespoon or more fresh dill, chopped (to taste)
1 teaspoon or more Dijon mustard (to taste)
Salt and fresh ground black pepper
Mix all ingredients together until creamy. Season with salt and pepper and make any adjustments by adding more lemon, dill, or mustard.
Cover the sauce tightly and refrigerate. It should keep for about a week.
