SUSPENSE—Episode 27: The Dead Man

By John C. Alsedek:

Based on the same short story as the very first episode of Night Gallery, this one was a bit of 1950’s family sitcom stunt casting: since the Night Gallery episode starred Carl Betz from The Donna Reed Show, we had in Tony Dow of Leave It to Beaver fame to fill Betz’s shoes. And he does a terrific job! Tony would be joined in a later episode by his own counterpart from The Donna Reed Show cast, Paul Peterson.

Episode 27: "The Dead Man"

Stars: Tony Dow, Peter Jessop, Camden Singer, and Rick Federman

An experiment using hypnotic suggestion to test the limits of human life goes horribly awry—and the worst is yet to come.

Adapted for SUSPENSE by John C. Alsedek & Dana Perry-Hayes from the short story by Fritz Leiber, Jr.

SUSPENSE writer, producer, and radio-drama aficionado John C. Alsedek shares the history of early radio and television and the impact it has made on the world of entertainment in his ongoing series for Flapper Press.
